Father to Sons

Rabbi Benarroch has been a Sofer in the UK since 1963 and has passed on his knowledge and experience - his safrut traditions to his sons. Rabbi Benarroch lives in Hendon, North West London. Two of his sons are qualified sofrim

Here in London we specialise in traditional Safrut and repairs serving both the local Jewish community as well as the wider UK community. Regularly Sifrei Torah repairs, requests for Tefilin and Mezuzot are received from communal and private individuals throughout the UK.

Binyamin Benarroch has been helping and working with his father in Safrut for many years. In fact, his father is proud to recount that his son's first encounter with Safrut happened as a toddler when he knocked the ink bottle over a Sefer Torah after climbing on the table to get a better look. Little Binyamin ruined more than one whole Yeria (section) that his father had just completed (after many hours) and caused him to spend hours rewriting it!

Binyamin is a certified Sofer Stam from the Va'ad L'Mishmeres Stam which is the established worldwide and Israeli institute for Soferim based in B'nai Brak under Rav Klein. The Mishmeres Stam requires a high pass rate on the understanding of the intricate halachot and theoretical scenarios of Safrut sheyelot (questions and solutions).

Additionally, he has received (Kaboloh) technical and practical shimush from his father, and even from his brother, David, who is Certified under Bedatz Yerushalayim - it is a family business. Rabbi Amram Ohonona and Rabbi Yehuda Grossman have given additional shimush and guidance as well as hands on experience.
